What can i do about my newborns wind?
My 2 week old has had a bit of nappy rash lately and it seems to have cleared up but he has alot of wind over the past few days and he sometimes starts crying when hes trying to do a poo is this normal?
Im breastfeeding him its going well, and im using Am-o-lin for his nappy rash.
any advice would help thanks
My son was like this quite often. I think that he just wasn’t able to “pass gas” on his own.
Most people “pat” their baby’s back, I found that actually rubbing his back down the center would work best, it would either bring it up a burp, or he would pass gas.
I have heard that there are different things like “Oval” that you can put on your nipples before breastfeeding that can help with the gas problem.
Also, it may be something that you are eating that is irritating his sensitive stomach, as you know, what you eat is passed through to breast milk. The general rule I stuck with is: If it could possibly make me gassy, or leaves me with bad breath, then don’t eat it – Worked pretty good!
Good luck, and don’t worry the diaper rash will clear up, and he will be burping and passing gas like crazy in no time!
