I’m still breastfeeding my 2 year old boy. How can I wean him off night feeds? He wakes up 3 times crying?
to be fed and if I refuse, he will cry till everyone in the family wakes up!!
i breastfed my daughter untill she was almost 3(2yrs 8months), it dissapated to only night feeds in the last few weeks, as much as a fuss she would raise at night when i finally stopped making alot of milk id still hold her, and as many times as she would knock a bottle away id always keep it close coaxing her to take it, play some soothing music or mabey a nice calm movie, and it will only take him at most a half an hour to calm down and mabey all the fussing will make him thirsty enough to try the bottle, i dont believe in leaving babies alone when there gettin off the boob, breastfeeding is a wonderful bonding experience, and cutting them off of both the milk and the contact is to hard on both parent and child, you could never spoil your son giving him breastmilk it is more then natural and weaning is best done at the pace of your milk production, some people frown upon mothers breatfeeding past a year and a half, all i have to say to that is that my daughter NEVER gets colds, NEVER has had a runny nose and the only time shes gotten sick was a 24 hr bug that we all got, it is such a relief when your finished with breastfeeding, though you should never be in a hurry too.
