Women of the Bible breastfed their kids. It is written in there about Solomon’s mother fed him for 2yrs.
The Quran speaks of breastfeeding for 2yrs.
So if the Islam and Christian books speak of this, then why are there not more women who breastfed their children instead of bottle feeding.
There are many great benefits to breastfeeding verses bottle
thanks
Men this question was not asked for vile reasons, but I should have known with me being a man it would be taken wrong
I support my wife in her decision to breastfeed, but women have pulled away from it and I wanted to know why
I’m not sure why – but in the non-western world breastfeeding is much more common. this may be due to the fact that it’s free, but also because the west objectifies women so much and breasts are defined mostly as ‘sexy’ rather than functional. unfortunately many women (and men) think page 3 is okay but breastfeeding is disgusting or at least distasteful. I did breastfeed my 3 for at least 2 years each and it can be hard. it can be tiring especially for the first few months. you need a lot of support and encouragement and help with the housework as I remember being glued to the sofa for the first 6 weeks because the baby just wanted to feed 24/7.

Question about breastfeeding with small breasts big breasts disadvantages?
I am a girl with breast (cup B) and the intention to give the chest when I have my son. I extracted a lot of pictures on breastfeeding, and it seems that most women with large breasts show. I know that size does not has nothing to do with the production of milk, but I have a curiosity about the nursing positions. Is it difficult to get a baby into position with small breasts? Bobby No pillows or pillow breastfriend work with small breasts? In most of the photos I saw the mothers breasts extend into the pillow so it is not (at least as As I see it) as a great need to bring the baby to the breast. Do your arms get tired of keeping the baby in position? Sorry if this seems rude or stupid, but I do not know anyone personally who is breastfeeding. All my friends with babies and feed the baby a family member a.
These are not stupid questions. All the same jobs, the cradle, football, etc (there are videos on youtube), but yes, you want a pillow or a breastfeeding pillow, thick, ie within companies, but I have a long torso and have strongly opposed gravity.) My arms are tired Nursing, do not want my daughter, my arm is and she states that without my muscles used. It is difficult to explain, but is natural. Good for you for breastfeeding. Talk to a lactation consultant who will be able to respond better questions.
When was your baby … He immediately gave her a breast or want you to give them the formula for the hospital? I ask this because my cousin said she is breastfeeding, but I saw a picture of her with her son to the hospital and was feed him a bottle of formula hospital. I am a week and I want to know what to expect after his birth. Thanks! -=)
I looked after my doctor and I sew (vaginal, broke)! In the hospital I breastfeeding has been a high priority, and we were encouraged to breastfeed immediately. I was very grateful. Milk does not often come in until 3-4 days, and babies often lose weight during this period. However, it produces colostrum, which is very important that the baby's health. The average weight of a baby lost before your milk comes in is 5-7%. My baby has lost about 12%, but was totally fine. She has never had formula and he did not need. Sometimes doctors and nurses are increasingly concerned that not feeding the baby soon, and you have to feed the baby formula begin. You will be afraid that your baby is hungry. This is not true. It is normal that the milk never returned, however, and it is normal for your baby to get only a small amount. They just need a little, the stomach is not used ever! Using the formula suppliment is really bad for milk. You need the baby suckling at the breast as possible to ensure enough milk is produced, and although the baby may be losing weight, colostrum is important. fight for your right to breastfeed. Learn enough to be comfortable for your foot right to breastfeed, while knowledge enough to know that when the form is required (breastfeeding jaundice, for example). Good luck and congratulations! edit – my hospital, mothers who had a cesarean can breastfeed in the recovery room

Are you a woman who is thinking about having breast augmentation surgery done? Many women are now interested in getting breast enlargement surgery done. Some women have this type of surgery done to boost their self esteem. Other women have this surgery done to make themselves look better so that they feel like a changed woman.
Some women who have had mastectomies due to breast cancer decide to have breast augmentation done to reconstruct their breasts. Some mothers also decide to have breast augmentation done after they have had children. Many women who have had children especially those who breastfed do not like the shape of their breasts any more. Breastfeeding causes the breasts to become larger and they often sag after breastfeeding is completed.
It is important to find the right plastic or cosmetic surgeon to complete your breast augmentation surgery. Do not just get surgery done by the plastic surgeon who is offering the surgery at the lowest price. This can be very risky, if people that you know have gotten an augmentation done then ask them for a recommendation. This will allow you to have a better chance of finding a great plastic surgery to do your surgery.
Having any type of elective surgery has its risks and benefits. It is important to have breast implant surgery done for the right reasons. Usually a plastic surgeon will give the female patient a consultation before the surgery is completed. The plastic surgeon will ask questions about why the patient wants the surgery and what they want to look like. The cosmetic or plastic surgeon will evaluate the breasts and then take pictures to see how the breasts might be augmented. There is a recovery time of a few weeks because the breasts are very sensitive. Women who have small children should not pick them up and carry them for a few days to a week.
If you are a woman who is considering getting breast augmentation done then remember this is a process. You need to make sure that you know how large of a cup size that you want and research qualified plastic surgeons in your area – some may be board certified others are not. Having elective surgery is a big decision so make sure that you do your homework so that you can have the best results possible.
Everyone has heard of them before,. An increasing popular medical procedure that women all over America look to get is a breast augmentation, or simply breast implants. are my breasts going back to their small size after breastfeeding?
i had very small breasts before i got pregnant less than an A cup, they grew during my pregnancy a little to fill a cup A and by the end of my pregnancy i was a cup B. now as i’m breatfeeding i’m a B and a C when overfull..most books say they go back to their normal size, i was hoping they wouldnt…what was anyone’s experience?
Actually, I have heard it both ways. Some have had the A cup before, and then they got smaller. But e.g. my wife was ¼ A before, and ½ A after ;o)
So you will just have to wait and see – and in the meantime enjoy that the possible worries you might have had as a teen (that they were not sufficient) were completely unfounded.

what are the chances of me getting approved for disability with out an attorney?
i started having migraines daily when i stopped breastfeeding my son, that was feb 2007. i have applied three times and i am comming up on the third times hearing. i was denied twice. i have a psyciatrist who is onboard because the daily pain has caused me to now be medicated for my bi-polar which was not necessesary before. i have been to 6 different nerologists and all of them have said there is nothing further they can do and have passed me to the next(after unsuccesfully treating me with medicines that have not helped). the last one said my case was too complicated and i need to go to madison or milwaukee. and that was the beggining of june, and i am still waiting for a new refferal. do i need to get a lawyer to get it approved this last time? and if so what can i do since i can’t get a nerologist on board?
You will most likely need a lawyer as the government will give you the runaround and stonewall you if you go it alone.
When did giving birth–the most beautiful and natural thing a woman can experience–become a medical emergency? More than 1 in 3 births result in C-sections–even more in twin pregnancies. Many of these are NOT necessary. Even in twin pregnancy a C-section should ONLY be preformed when the life of the mother or baby are in imminent danger. It is IMPERATIVE that you find a health care provider who will support what you want and respect your birth plan. It is your body, your babies, your decision.
Here are some startling facts about C-section Risks to mom:
More likely to hemorrhage
More likely to develop blood clots
Higher risk of infection
More likely to need a hysterectomy
Greater risk of pulmonary embolism
Unexplained stillbirth in subsequent pregnancies
Increase risk of placental abnormalities in subsequent pregnancies
More painful and longer recovery time
Increased risk of postpartum depression
Possible PTSD (post-traumatic stress syndrome)
Abdominal scarring
Greater risk of maternal death (5 to 7 times the risk of death as compared to vaginal birth)
Greater risk of uterine rupture in subsequent pregnancies
Respiratory complications due to general anesthesia
Back pain or epidural headache
Difficulty breastfeeding and/or bonding with baby.
Here are some startling facts about c-section risks to your baby (or babies):
High risk of low birth weight and prematurity
More than 4 times greater risk of respiratory distress syndrome and other respiratory problems
Lacerations
Lower APGAR scores
Increased risk of cow milk allergy in childhood
Increased risk of cavities (dental caries) in childhood
More than 5 times more likely to be admitted to intermediate or intensive care than babies who are born vaginally.
Alarming Statistics:
On March 18, 2009, The National Center for Health Statistics located in Redondo Beach, CA, reported that the C-section rate hit an all-time high in 2007, with a rate of 31.8 percent, up two percent from 2006.
“Every pregnant woman in the U.S. should be alarmed by this rate,” said Pam Udy, president of the International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN). “Half or more of cesareans are avoidable and over-using major surgery on otherwise healthy women and babies is taking a toll.”
Important information for women after C-section:
“Cesareans can raise the risks of postpartum depression and some women develop PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and should seek further help from a therapist who is skilled in dealing with birth trauma. These therapists should not be dismissive of your needs or concerns and realize that there is more to birth than a “healthy baby” and that even the healthiest of babies can come through a traumatic event to the mother. You have the right to mourn your birth and your trauma while celebrating your child. These are two different events in your life, even if they are happening simultaneously.”

Now please dont think im saying im against bottle feeding….because im not when there is a medical reason,or the mother is in severe pain trying to breastfeed etc…
but i was just looking on my facebook and there is a girl who recently had a baby, she is bottle feeding (now i know for a fact there was no reason for her not to be able to breastfeed) and there are loads of pics of the baby up late at night being bottle fed by a child(not just a one of either). Whilst the mother is outside getting drunk and smoking…
is it just me or does it anger you that its clear she just didnt want to breastfeed so she could carry on her normal life? i have devoted myself to my baby and i am still exclusively breastfeeding at 5months,i do not smoke and havent drank since before i got pregnant….
again please dont think im against bottle feeding!!!! and i understand not all mums who bottle feed act this way,so no rude answers..
thanks:-)
Sometimes b/f doesn’t work for some people, i myself breastfed 2 of my children and my last one i did for 13.5 months…
however.. even if she didn’t want to b/f her child so she could carry on a normal life that’s up to her..
i don’t think its right that she should be letting children feed her child whilst she is outside getting drunk like you say..a child needs there mother or father for that bonding, but then that’s y bottle feeding is so convenient because others can help out.
however, deciding which method to feed a child is up to the mother and unfortunately you are just going to have to let her get on it with it..
just worry about you.. i am pleased to hear that you have managed up to 5 months i don’t think there are enough mums who b/f there children and i do think that more mums should try but its up to them!

If I’m not eating enough while breastfeeding, will my daughter still be nourished?
I seem to rarely have time for food and not enough money to buy a ton of healthy food. I basically subsist on Ramen and peanut butter. Will my body take my nutrients and put them in the milk so that at least my daughter is still being nourished properly?
You are what you eat.. and what you eat is what the baby is eating. Yes it will effect your milk, it will not be as healthy as it could be because YOU are not as healthy as you could be. Take the time to eat. For the both of you. Also a good iron and vitamin supplement will help a lot.

Is breastfeeding while pregnant prohibited in ISLAM?
Breastfeeding is best for a baby for sure! Studies have shown that one year is minimum, but also has found that the longer the better.
Islam has put a limit of 2 years. My baby is alittle over a year. I just found out I am expecting….should I stop breastfeeding? I have also read that I should stop when I am 7 months pregnant, but I am curious to know what the ruling is in ISLAM. I have searched on google, but not with not much luck.
Everything that I have found(through a lovely search engine) points to it being ok. I am by no means an expert on Islam though, and would recommend you speaking to someone that is well versed in the matter. Best of luck to you

In recent years, there has been a lot of debate surrounding the issue of breastfeeding. While the decision to breastfeed is a personal one, there are countless benefits for both mother and child that ought to be explored. One of the most significant reasons to breastfeed your child relates to the quality of food your child is ingesting. Although baby formula may meet the nutritional requirements of children, it is not the ideal food for babies.
According to the World Health Organization, Breastfeeding is the absolute best source of food for babies. Commercial baby formula is comprised of countless preservatives and by-products of other food production techniques that have no proven benefit for your child. Formula is also extremely high in fat content, and leads parent to believe that their child is thriving because he or she is gaining weight. This is not necessarily the case.
Breast milk, on the other hand, has undergone millions of years of development in the laboratory of Nature. Countless studies have proven that there is no reasonable substitute for Breast milk. Breast milk has the amazing ability to transform and adapt to the needs of your baby at various stages of development.
Colostrum is an amazing example of the way a woman’s body produces the perfect food for baby. It is the first liquid produced by a mother, usually beginning a few months before delivery. It differs slightly in appearance than breast milk, in that it is thicker and has a yellowish tint. It has a high concentration of antibodies, which helps newborns fend off illness and disease and build strong, stable immune systems. It is extremely easy for babies to digest, and it also has a laxative effect to help ease digestion.
Studies have also shown that there is a direct relationship between breastfeeding and a child’s cognitive ability and intelligence. Simply put, breastfed babies have higher IQ’s than their bottle-fed peers. Some studies have concluded that the longer a child is breastfed, the higher IQ he/she will have. Other studies have shown that breastfed children have a lower incidence of ear infections. This is significant when one considers the overuse of antibiotics and antibiotic resistant disease.
Food allergies are another important consideration for new parents. Breastfed babies have a much lower chance of developing food life-threatening food allergies. As a consequence, the have an even lower chance of developing related illnesses such as gastrointestinal disorders, diarrhea and vomiting. Breast milk protects babies from food allergies because it has a high concentration of the immunoglobulin IgA. IgA works by binding to foreign proteins and preventing them from entering the child’s bloodstream. Children do not begin to produce IgA of their own until approximately 8 months of age.
Other studies have concluded that breastfeeding can also protect your child from diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis and Leukemia. New parents should explore their options carefully, and make educated decisions regarding their child’s health and well being. Speak with your Pediatrician, or contact your local health unit, for more information. The choice you make will affect your child’s health for the rest of his or her life.

Breast milk is the best source of baby food, but it is worth recalling the principle is the same for breastfeeding as is the case of pregnancy –
You are what you eat and your baby is what you eat.
Everything you put in your body can be transmitted to the baby through breast milk, so it is good to watch what you eat and drink while breastfeeding.
Breastfeeding mothers often try to analyze their use to assess how different foods affect their babies. When babies are crying at home or mothers trying to determine what they ate for their can remove the substance of our diet. Most of the time the babies cry in reaction to something completely unrelated to what has been eaten. But sometimes, what you eat affects the way babies feel. It is true that what we eat affects our health and breast milk some substances may be transferred directly to your baby through breast milk. How long does the pain/engorgement last after completely stopping breastfeeding?
I stopped breastfeeding my now 5 day old son. I wasn’t completely breastfeeding him to begin with…he maybe had 2-3 feedings a day by breast (the rest of the feeding was w/ formula).
So, the hardening started on Sat. and they became completely engorged by Sun. and way worse today.
When will the pain and engorgement go away?
Thank you. Please no judging. Only answers to the actual question please.
Mine were back to normal by the end of the 4th day, it might be a few days longer. It all depends on the woman.
