I’m breastfeeding how do I start a supply for returning to work?
I have a pump I’m just not sure how to start a supply for work without my baby missing his feeding. When I do pump I only get 3 – 3 1/2 oz. Is that enough?
He’ll be 2 months tomorrow and I go back to work 3/11/07
Usually 1/2 a bottle should be enough per feed. just depends on how hungry he/she is.
Breast milk can be frozen, then re-heated for use.
Make up a few of these for future feeds.

HELP! my nipples are cracked and bleeding breastfeeding and not also the pump hurts. I have been complemented with the formula of the last two meals, but do not really want to give more. and I know when I have extra long to pump every 2-3 hours to keep my diet, but I it hurts really bad! Lansinoh cream does not help much. and I can not stand the pain to push through it alone and the nurse. How I can treat my nipples to feed my baby again?
Are you locked right? Correct position? If you are unsure, you should get it checked by a lactation or a member of La Leche League. This will help for free if the first is unavailable or too expensive for you. Ideally, it should not hurt if all goes well, Unfortunately, this is not always true, and some women experience pain in the early days, despite proper locking and positioning. This was the case with me, and could be the case with you. If so, you just have to drive, do not last long. A lot of air with the aid nipples, as the expression of milk and leave cracks air dry. Avoid soap as it is drying and may aggravate the situation. Not to see if anyone in the case of pain, you should always make sure everything is like before you bite the bullet.
Breastfeeding: what to eat to increase milk production?
Eating with hunger and thirst to drink. You have to eat and drink plenty water, but no special foods to help build your milk supply. The best thing to build your milk supply is to nurse on demand. The more you feed more produce milk. If you do not breastfeed and supplement with formula many can not produce as much as if you were to breastfeed her baby when hungry. It is normal for babies want eat every 1 1 / 2 hours to 3 hours in the beginning months. This is normal and does not mean you do not have enough milk. A baby's stomach is the size of a golf ball and not can be done in small amounts at first. As your baby grows your stomach grow and the hours between feedings tendency to stretch. Another thing to consider is that milk mother is digested and absorbed much more quickly than an infant formula if breast milk long before eating baby formula. The formula is more difficult to digest, it is normal for them to feed about 2-4 hours in the month beginning. Good luck and I hope this helps.

can anyone give my any advise? returning to work and still breastfeeding?
im breastfeeding my 6month old son and im due back to work in 6weeks , and i dont wont to stop breastfeeding. my boss is fine with me to express, and for me to not work night on a tempory basis due to me still breastfeeding.the thing i need advise with is that my boss said ill have to return to working nights ,6 months after returning to work regardless to me still breastfeeding at that time. when my son is 1 year old i may not be still breastfeeding , but if i am can my boss make me work nights ? she is making me feel presured in to giving up sooner than i’d like help
you can pump the milk and freeze it for up to 3 month.
at 6 month you should start your child on baby foods and slowly reduce breastfeeding. Maybe you can reduce it slowly to one breast meal a day and maybe nurse him in the morning and snuggle while still in bed. That worked well for my daughter and me.
I have a 2 mo old son with a suspected milk allergy. I have seen mucus in his stool and he is VERY
fussy at night after nursing all day. I have eliminated milk from diet with no change in baby. I do not want to stop breastfeeding – HELP!
The doctor suspects milk allergy. I have to give one bottle per day to get baby ready for daycare, that is when the crying started (3 weeks old)…we have switched from milk based to soy formula and now nutramigen. He is also on Zantac to see if it is acid reflux.
My son was allergic to dairy and I successfully breastfeed him until he grew out of the allergy which most children do by their first birthday.
If your son truly is allergic to dairy the only thing you need to do is cut all dairy from your diet. This includes cutting out more than just milk from your diet. Check out the website www.godairyfree.org.. It has TONS of great information on how to live a dairy free life. There are a lot of different words on labels that mean dairy which is why if you decide to go dairy free, most processed foods will be off limits. There is a list of all the words you need to look for listed on the above website.
As someone previously stated, it can take up to 2 weeks for all of the dairy to be eliminated from yourself and your son and to notice changes. If you are on a strictly no dairy diet for 2 weeks and you do not notice changes, either your son isn’t allergic to dairy or he may be allergic to something else as well. Our doctor told us often times, when a child is allergic to one thing, he has a higher chance of being allergic to something else (my point in case, my son would also break out in a rash when I ate citrus foods).
I successfully lived a dairy free lifestyle for 6 months so I could continue breastfeeding my son. At times it may be challenging but it can be done!!
I stopped breastfeeding for a few weeks due to a breast infection. I miss it and want to get milk supply back? Any suggestions?
You can try taking Fenugreek capsules 2-4 3x a day. That worked for me. Also make sure you are drinking alot of water and eating right. Some mothers find eating oatmeal helps their milk production.
You can also try cluster pumping. Pump for 10 min, 10 min off, 10 min on, 10 min off, etc. for one hour.
It also matters what kind of pump you are using. I had an Evenflo pump and it sucked. I then rented a hospital grade Medela pump and it made a world of difference. You can’t judge your milk supply on how much you pump for many reasons. For one, like l said, all pumps are different in their efficiency to get the milk out and also, babies can usually get 1-2 ounces out more than you can pump.
Here is a great website:
http://www.kellymom.com/bf/supply/low-su…
I have never personally tried the tea, just Fenugreek. I have read in various places if you take Blessed Thistle in conjunction with the Fenugreek it works better than just taking one or the other.
The best thing for you to do is nurse whenever possible, as much as you can.

Every age and every society has its saints and sages, with its long history, China has produced a large number, some so old as to be lost, except for the echo.
A major Chinese philosophies was Taoism, the founder of Taoism is considered by many to be Lao-Tzu (604-531 BC), a contemporary of Confucius. Was looking for a way to avoid the constant feudal warfare and other conflicts that have broken society during his lifetime. The result has been a great education, the Tao Te Ching. Many believe without But no one is Lao Zi, is probably a mythical character who symbolizes the combined wisdom of the teachings of the time.
Central religious Taoism Spiritual eight people are known as the "Eight Immortals" (Chinese Xian) and may be intended to be allegorical, these people super-human or perfect (John chin) came to be adored and emulated by the Taoists. These perfect beings live far away in a quiet place to live a life without effort of physical liberty. They do not age, not eat nothing but air, drink nothing but dew, and enjoy the power of flight, which really illustrate the power of spontaneity and Taoist spiritual transcendence.
These eight powerful beings are said to have been born under the Tang Dynasty (618-907) or the Song Dynasty (960-1279). . Among the Eight Immortals, a number appear actually have been living in history. They were "real people." However, the many stories that have accumulated, which describes the magical and mysterious life of these immortal make it almost indistinguishable from the historical mythology.
The Eight Immortals appear frequently in Chinese literature, mythology and art, and each one has a symbol and a special power. This has much to do with these immortal, or, in the words of Shelley, "as if nature were resolved in the universe that surrounds it, or was as if the surrounding universe solved his being. "

What was the situation where you decided to use Formula instead of breastfeeding?
Did you try unsuccessfully to breastfeed beforehand? Or, had you decided against breastfeeding before the baby was born?
What were the factors leading you in the direction of using Formula rather than breastfeeding?
Was mother HIV, double mastectomy, poor health, anxiety, low milk, etc. a factor? Or perhaps baby premature, cleft lip, adopted, etc.
Finally, are you aware of Midwives and the help they can give you before, during, and after birth, or such worldwide groups as www.lllc.ca www.lalecheleague.org www.laleche.org.uk for those who want to give or receive breastfeeding support.
Please, no angry, defensive, or generally negative answers, I’m not interested in such responses (let’s all be friends, OK?). Just the facts as you see them, thank you.
I breast fed my son for 3 weeks, and to be honest that was as long as I could possibly do it!!! Let alone the physical trauma that I endured to have my son , I felt that coming home and being the only one who could feed him to be way too much to handle!!! Why not rest and let my scars heal before I decide to be super mom!? So I opted to start supplimenting formula into my babys diet, and daddy started doing latenight feedings (WHICH-by the way SAVED my sanity! Sleep deprivasion is one of the worst things I have ever had to endure- ever!!)
To be honest, it was a happy ending as far as I’m concerned….I got the rest I despratly needed, dad and baby got A LOT more bonding time together, and he got the BEST of formulas, and didn’t seem affected by the transition at all!!! So all’s well that ends well!! Dont feel bad if you can not breast feed, for ANY reason!!!
As for your comment about hiring a midwife….you have to realise that hiring a midwife is just NOT an option for A LOT of families, where money is a problem!!
So my son is 3 weeks old and I have been breastfeeding as much as I can (he eats more than I produce so we have to supplement with formula). Anyways, I pump all the time so that my supply will increase but it hasn’t done anything and it seems like supply in my right breast is getting lower while in my left is getting higher. Anyone have this happen?
Any suggestions (other than pumping and increasing amount of feedings) that can increase my milk supply?
Well Lacey to tell you the truth I guess everyone has this same problem. My son is now 1 month old and he did not latch very good so I had to pump and feed him through a bottle. This worked good for a week or so until he needed more than I could make. i felt as if I was pumping hundreds times a day and it made me feel like I wasn’t allowed to do anything else. I started supplementing formula as well which at first he hated but it is better now. I feelmy supply has gotten weaker and weaker. I still pump frequently but I can only pump about 5 ounces with both breast and he is eating about 4 ounces at a time. I did however notice that my left breast puts out more than my right. I am not sure there is anything you can do. They say the more you pump but I don’t think that is true. I asked my Dr. and she said that some woman just dry up. Look at it this way.. You have gave him 3 weeks worth of breast milk which has fattened him up I am sure. It is completely ok if you have to do formula from now on. It is whatever makes the baby grow. I hope this helps. It bothered me at first that I may lose that bonding time but I haven’t and you won’t either.
There are so many things to learn with a newborn in the house at every step of the road. Holding the baby feed, regular patterns sleep and eventually weaned from breastfeeding . Another important aspect is the baby's name. By giving a baby identity has a meaning and define it for the rest of his life.
As you can imagine, the selection of a name for a baby is not easy. There are so many options and find it really becomes difficult. Sometimes women have chosen names for their babies because they were children themselves. If you have trouble choose the perfect baby name Here are some guidelines to help you.
• Once you know if a boy or a girl who made the selection more easier, and reducing their options. Once you choose a baby name are few, like the baby's name sounds. T-sweet and too strong and tough?
• Remember that if the name is too long the baby's name must be shorter, but if you have a shorter name that has the freedom of a baby more name. Try to choose a baby name, where the last letter of the name and the first letter of the name is a vowel, it sounds better that way.
• The name of your child should not be too complicated and twisted. Thinks he or she should be able to pronounce his own name and first name. Yu do not want their friends to come with strange names, simply because the name is too complicated.
• There are advantages and disadvantages when choosing a common name like Anne, Ben, or Michael. The disadvantage is that can find many in the same class, game or karate class! Good thing is that the common names become easy to pronounce and nicknames are harmless.
• Ask friends and neighbors to baby names. This way, you will have a huge database to choose from. Another great way to find baby names is the family. You have an aunt or grandparent Nicolas Rose, whose name can be ideal for the baby. When the baby's name and try to know what this means is a story tell your child when they grow up.

Breastfeeding and pregnant women, my bid collapsed. How to increase breast milk during pregnancy? Anyway
I I'm still nursing my 9.5 months old, and am newly pregnant. Only the symptoms so far seems to be a sharp drop in my milk output. My daughter will not bottle and I'm not ready to wean anyway. BF was hoping throughout the pregnancy that I have taken with my gynecologist and lactation. But the way to increase my power? I'm drinking tons of water and I'm going to pick up some oats. I'm also pumped 1-2x a day after eating. I also keep an eye on your investment its solid and liquid and allow you to suck up to the maximum with the hope that rising demand will increase supply. Other ideas? Drugs affect pregnancy current, shall we? That was my main concern.
I'm with Himmiy – it seems that you already do everything that might suggest. The only other option I would like give is talk to your lactation consultant on the use of complementary care system in this way the baby is still to get the food they need while his chest is still driven by demand. But I also want to encourage you – sounds like you do everything possible! I am proud to go to such lengths to continue to breastfeed their baby.
my son of 4 months .. I'm trying to breastfeed … but when we go out in public, anywhere, and the pump put in a bottle for him … anyway, my question is … When should I change the nipple to a faster pace? He is still using us from birth. I know that when breastfeeding, the "descent" seems much faster than a bottle … But it would not complain .. What do you think u guys ..?
Stick with the slow flow nipple …. If it is easier to eat the bottle, it is possible that preferred in the chest. Good luck
Breast milk is poured over her breasts respond with even more milk. Sure Breast milk can be made directly, the child lock on or through the pumping milk. Increase your milk production may take several days to arrive, but it definitely will happen if they are compatible with breast and tell your brain that needs more milk. Everyone will have enough milk for the baby, what is the nature of life. If you keep saying you do not have enough milk, you may not strive enough.
The following will help increase your milk supply
Breastfeed regularly even at night frequently. Breastfeed your baby 8-12 times per day, or every 2-3 hours. Do this every time it shows signs of wanting to be fed. Over time, your baby will learn to breastfeed faster. constant stimulation to increase production. Try not to feed your baby when he began to mourn. When he begins to mourn, and she is hungry and trying to calm the baby who is hungry can not be easy. It may not even want to cooperate to stay still suck.
Completely empty both breasts at each feeding. When the baby finishes his food in one breast, offer the other breast too. If your baby refuses to suckle again, or you can also hand pump to completely empty their breasts after breastfeeding. It is necessary to empty both breasts to be sent the right signal that not enough milk, please start to produce more for the next meal.
If separated from your baby, express or pump on a regular schedule. Please do regularly to help keep her milk down. Even if you are abroad and can not be achieved such milk for your baby. Vacuum pump. And you should empty milk every four hours to maintain their production. Regular express or pump can also help increase your supply. It may need to express or pump more often when they try to increase its offer.
Relax and get enough sleep when you are breastfeeding. Rest and sleep will help your body produce more milk. Try to sleep or rest when your baby sleeps and seek support for possible early motherhood not feeling too tired. Being tired or stressed is decreasing milk supply.
Drink plenty of fluids. When you are breastfeeding, your body loses too much fluid. You will have to replace the water lost. To increase milk supply, drink plenty of fluids, nursing tea or red tea dates. There are words that red tea dates help in increasing milk production, but the results vary among individuals. Some other foods that have been said to increase milk production, including fish and papaya.
Record power and pumping information. Can record when and how to extract the milk by hand or pump and the time the baby suck on each breast. This will help you see how often and how well you eat your baby. Also for the amount of milk obtained by pumping and whether there is an increase over time.
What may cause my milk supply decreasing?
or less frequent breastfeeding or expressing shorter sessions.
Being pregnant soon after having a baby.
Not being able to breastfeed the baby.
The pressure on her breasts while sleeping face down or wear a bra that is too tight.
The stress and fatigue.
The use of certain substances and chemicals.
Drink much alcohol.
Smokers.
Taking certain medications.

is it realistic to go away for 2 days while exclusively breastfeeding?
My husband wants to go away for 2 days for new years if I leave enough pumped milk?
I have twin boys who are nearly 3 months but I’m not ready to wean yet
I have a very good pump (ameda purely yours) and could pump
But I’d need to pump every 3 to4 hours To maintain supply right is it realistic
Or should we give up on the idea?
Apologies for bad spelling and grammer using a blackberry
it is realistic, and it is certainly possible.
i went to cuba for one week when my baby was 4.5 months old. i exclusively breastfed. i began pumping milk a few months before i left to make sure i had enough for the week. my baby fed 5 times a day, slept all through the night, so i pumped 40 bags of milk – 5 bottles for 8 days. just knowing that she had my milk, and a bit of formula just in case helped me to enjoy my trip with my sisters.
i brought along a manual pump, and pumped into bags rather than a bottle to save room in my purse. i was engorged for the first two days, then after that, i only pumped 1oz each side to feel comfortable. since you’ll only be gone for two days, just pump when your boobs hurt. YOU WILL NOT LOSE YOUR MILK!!!! Trust me on this. my baby is almost 14 months, i stopped breastfeeding her nearly 2 months ago, and i think there’s still milk in there. milk does not go away overnight. it takes months.
you don’t have to give up on the idea. taking time out with your husband is a good thing to do. getting a break from the babies will give you and hubby time to reconnect and enjoy each other’s company.
if you really want to go, pump NOW. it’s close to new year’s, get as much milk as possible. it’s okay to use a bit of formula too for a few feeds, don’t worry.
you will not have to wean. nurse again when you get home, the babies won’t forget, just be persistent, they’ll take your milk.
I am a working mom who’s breastfeeding. I have a strict routine for pumping during the week.?
But I wonder, what should I do on the weekends????? Should I stick to the schedule and pump on weekends or breastfeed when we are together.
When he takes the breastmilk from a bottle he goes about every 3 hours, but when he nurses from me, he can go about 4 hours, so the “schedule” get “messed” up. I don’t know what to do. I know what I want to do, which is feed him whenever we are together, but I don’t want to hurt my milk production. Please help.
If you want to feed him when you’re together, do that. You can always pump afterwards to help your milk supply. Nursing is a precious bonding opportunity; take advantage of it while you can. The extra pumping should help stimulate your milk production enough to make up for the weekend schedule change.
Good for you that you’re so determined to breastfeed, too, by the way. : )

How long does it take to stop milk production after weaning?
I stopped breastfeeding my son 7 months ago and I can feel still there’s milk production and if I squeeze my breasts after shower, I can see drops of milk. I am worried why hasn’t it stopped yet.
Please share your experience with me.
Thank you. Kate.
Try not to touch them or rub them with your bra, the less attention you give them the less milk they creat. Sounds crazy but it will help. took me about 2 weeks.
Review of More milk plus by Motherlove (Breastfeeding/Increase milk production))
how can I increse my milk production for breastfeeding?
Feels like my 5 week old baby not getting enough milk ( she is crying after feeding) What can I do to produce more milk?
I agree w/ all the other posts . . . as long as your Baby is wetting diapers, she is getting enough. Crying afterward can be for so many reasons, don’t get discourage and think it you milk or BF altogether!
Keep it up . . . you are doing the best thing for her.
BTW, if you are truely worried, you can see a Lactation constultant and they will weigh her, have her Bf, then weigh her again . . . then advise.
im storing my breastmilk and was wonderting if anyone knows; if i heat a bottle of breastmilk and my baby doesnt finish it, can i store the remaining milk in the refrigerator for later use?
It’s the worst to “waste” breastmilk when your baby doesn’t drink it all, but the official word on this is that you can’t use breast milk twice. If you store it in the fridge, then you’ll have to try to give it to baby cold, because you shouldn’t heat it twice. Sorry. The best thing to do is to store it in smaller sizes. Try 2-4 oz. bags, then you can heat up one after the other. It’s easier to do that than have to pump milk that goes unused.
