Breastfeeding Eating Chocolate

breastfeeding eating chocolate

Foods and beverages that may cause irritability of the baby during breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is a wonderful experience for women who come to do. Eating foods that were major problems during pregnancy is very high. However, sometimes the two do not work well together. Why? What a woman eats and drinks and take the medicine actually affects breast milk.

Flavors of breast milk

Some babies seem to like the milk that tastes different from that from time to time. However, although some babies may benefit from this change, others are not so fond of him and difficult. If, as a woman, happens in the end, stop eating that food until you have finished breastfeeding.

Common stirrers

Are there any stand out as food have contributed to the city of breastfed babies capricious? In fact, exists. A food for special causes some women to shrink when they not realize for some time. It is the chocolate. These women need chocolate every day, but find they must give the baby. Others are citrus fruits like oranges, limes, lemons and grapefruits, vegetables that produce gas for an adult (gases can also cause the baby that makes them a bad mood), chili (especially the spicy variety) spices, garlic and even fruit such as plums and cherries provide a laxative effect.

What about caffeine?

Yes good to have a cup, maybe two of coffee per day. Too much of a good thing can be bad for the baby. Caffeine can disturb sleep a baby. In turn, this makes them difficult. If the rest is caffeine? It is in soda (but not soft drinks are caffeine free) tea (you can have decaf), drugs purchased in stores as well.

Alcohol

So most women prefer not to drink alcohol while breastfeeding, some like to take every once in a while. However, drinking more than one glass of alcohol can put in the milk, which increases the level of alcohol in the blood.

If going to go out and drink, try to wait two hours or more before going to drink alcohol you've had. If your breasts feel full and it is time for the baby to eat, unless you know it safe to do so, the drain pump and milk. Do not make an excessive consumption of alcohol.

It is preferable for nursing mothers to seek medical advice before bypass all foods. In so doing, can cause an imbalance in supply a woman needs. Women also may talk to a nutritionist for Women, Infants and Children ( WIC ) programs if they have concerns or questions.

Breastfeeding Vitamin Supplements

breastfeeding vitamin supplements
vitamin D supplements for breastfed babies?

i am not worried about this cuz my baby and i go outside virtually every day for walks and such, and we have a lot of sun! in fact, our city is actually nicknamed the “sun city”
but anyways….i was reading this article

http://www.todaysparent.com/baby/breastfeeding/article.jsp?content=855905

and it says things like “babies were intended to be breastfed, and if there was supposed to be more vitamin D in breastmilk, then it would be there”
and ” recommending vitamin D for every breastfed baby sends a message that breastfeeding is deficient”

i agree with this 100%…i mean babies were meant to have breastmilk, and if they needed something, it would be there.

what do you all think about this?

also…if the mother consumes alot of vitamin D herself, does it get passed on to baby? wasnt sure about that one. thanks!

you get a lot of vitamin d from being outside. there’s this controversy about whether or not breast milk has enough vitamin d, but the fact of the matter is years and years ago we spent more time outside than we do now. people didn’t have TVs and you worked outside. you absorb vitamin d from sunlight, it’s the greatest natural source of it. if you go outside though — at all — your baby should be alright with vitamin d. I’ve heard that people who live above boston (draw a line straight across the country) might want to be concerned with vitamin d intake but honestly I’ve never been too concerned about it. I think a lot of the vit. d thing is blown out of proportion and a lot of pediatricians recommend vitamin supplementation to cover themselves in case babies never get outside. you can’t OD on vitamin d I do believe — so it’s better safe than sorry. I have given my son vitamin d on occasion (he doesn’t take whole milk but he still nurses) just to be safe, if there’s been a few days where we haven’t gotten outside. this winter was brutal but now that it’s nice out, I’ll discontinue the use of them until it gets nasty again next year!

from what I remember, if a mom consumes vitamin d or goes outside herself, her vitamin d levels spike and go up a lot but it’s not necessarily proven to pass through the breast milk enough. but all they recommend for a baby to get enough is to spend 15 minutes a day outside. I think a lot of people are paying attention to vitamin d more and more because it’s linked to soft bones and osteoporosis in adults.

Vitamin Supplements Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding Question……..?

I am exclusively breastfeeding my 4 month old daughter. Even though I try to eat healthy, I usually don’t. My question is, should I give her a vitamin supplement or do you think that she should be okay. She is gaining weight fine and I know that she is getting plenty. I still take my prenatal vitamin also. Should that be enough or should I give her a vitamin knowing that I don’t have the most healthy diet?

Your milk won’t change in quality unless you are severely malnourished. She doesn’t need any supplements. The vitamins in supplements are far more difficult for her to utilize than those in your milk.

Fever Breastfeeding Mother

Teen mothers: did you?

Teen mommys did you breastfeed? If so for how long? Any complications? If you didnt breastfeed then why not? How old are you?

I am 15, my son is 3 months old I am still breastfeeding, we give the bottle once in a while but I plan to stick just to the breast for atleast another 3 months but if I can feed for longer then great!
I did get mastitis (milk fever) a few days ago but its cleared now.
To the rude people. Stop being so damn immature, I had my son,his father (my boyfriend) and I are taking care of him. Whats done is done. Now get on with your own life and stop judging others. Watch the teens close to you.

Nope; I chose not to. Mainly because I heard sometimes you can have complications latching & not producing enough milk & stuff like that. I was 14 when I conceived, 15 when I had him, and am now 16 and he is 1 :)

Breastfeeding Moms!!?

Doesn’t “research” like this tick you off?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071114/hl_nm/breast_milk_dc_1;_ylt=Aun2lnREOBTXAX.ETttMLZHEHX0V

I breastfeed and am highly annoyed at this. It reminds me of the headline two years ago that said that a low fat diet had no impact on health for an 8 year study on heart disease in older women

It seems that what they are suggesting here is fake is better than natural.
If you read all of the “findings” everything contributes to obesity…Formula feeding, giving juice, introducing solids too early, bottle feeding cereal, snacks, video games, cupcakes…breathing! Everything contributes, sheesh
What wasn’t indicated is if the moms themself were overweight too or other factors. Not to mention that the results were inconclusive.

Do you think it is irresponsible to release results like these before the results of the study are fully complete or understood

My son is 13 months old, 25% weight, 80% height, and is breastfed. He’s not going to be obese because he has good eating habits and I plan to maintain those habits and help him avoid boredom eating. We also have a no TV policy in our house while he’s awake – watching TV contributes to obesity, too. Breastfed is healthier than anything else, don’t doubt it. Why give your child engineered ingredients when your body can provide all the nutrients he needs?
