Iv heard and read online that breastfeeding increased the domperidone for lactation .. its also known as Motilium anyone has any idea?
I used it and helped me when I was driving my daughter a good game when she was a newborn. I thought I was a bit of a laxative effect. I have not found much documentation this side effect, but my doctor said that both can have this result, and is also the impact of breast milk. I fear that this would be a laxative effect on my baby, and the GP said he could, but did not express concern. Okay – That said, I do not noticed a big increase in "poopal tee hee '() on the activity of my daughter – just for me. So, overall, I'm glad because we use it through the difficult period and after hanging up, he gave more than 2 years of successful nursing my child! I hope this helps honey! And I hope that nursing takes for you too!

How do IUDs work and are they safe while breastfeeding?
I’m curious if IUDs are a drug or if they work in some other way. I would like to live the most natural way possible while raising a child and am interested in birth control methods with very low or little doses of medicine/drugs. How exactly does an IUD work and would it affect my breastmilk at all? I’m not asking if it’s considered “safe” but if there will be any drugs in my bloodstream AT ALL.
you can go onto mirena-us.com to check about the breast feeding thing. i do believe it is safe while breast feeding without it effecting your breast milk. i have the mirena IUD…i don’t notice it is there….they slowly release a small amount of hormone that makes it so nothing can attach to your uterine wall. it does cause some spotting,

Can the poison from a bee sting pass into the blood and make you sick?
If so, can a breastfeeding mother make her baby sick? I was stung by a bee, the area became very swallon and I have not been 100% since, however, my nursing 6month old daughter has been very unsettled since and cant keep anything down. I asked the pharmasist, and they just looked at me like I was stupid… it seems very suspiciously linked… could this be true?
Unlike most other allergies, insect allergy can cause a life-threatening disruption to breathing and circulatory systems called anaphylactic shock. For one person in 100, the sting of an insect can be fatal.
Most people stung will experience a “local” reaction with redness, pain, swelling and some itching only at the sting site. If the reaction progresses quickly to sites other than the sting site or is followed by difficult breathing or choking at the throat, the person is experiencing a “systemic” allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) requiring emergency medical treatment…..

My husband and I went out last night and some drinks. I am breastfeeding within our second child. I remember the first child to be pumped and discarded after drinking, but I'm hearing now that it is not necessary because the alcohol leaves the milk out of your bloodstream. I had five beers, the last at 10 o'clock last night. I feel good today, but I know when it is safe to nurse again. In addition, I am not a smoker, but I like time cigarette consumption. He had a cigarette last night, and I wonder if anyone knows the effect this has on breastfeeding and when out of my milk. I have a great Frozen breast milk in the freezer, which is what feeds yet.
when you can drive, can you feed better go, here is a great breastfeeding relationship. hours and was probably the only reason why anyone would need to pump and dump is to relieve congestion, not to dispose of alcohol. as you said, not saved in the chest as the blood circulates adnd on smoking in the WHO says it is better to smoke and breastfeed than smoke and bottle

Im waiting for my dr’s office to open so i can ask my dr. My dentist prescribed me this medication bec my tooth is infected and its very painful. I ve been taking it for 4 days now along w amoxicillin. I got different answers from websites about this drug. So, i would like to know any experiences in taking this drug while breastfeeding?
Thanks all.
I was given 800mg Ibuprofen when I was nursing my first born at the hospital shortly after giving birth. I was given the meds for the pain from the birth, and it had no adverse effects. Of course confirm with your doctor, but I believe it is OK.

If a breastfeeding mother becomes pregnant, and she continues to nurse her one year old, is this okay?
Here’s the deal. I have nursed many of my children while I was in my first trimester of my next pregnancy. I know that during this time, my body is flooded with pregnancy hormones that make me feel sick and tired a lot. Do these hormones go through the milk into my nursling and effect him as well?
They don’t effect the baby but there is some research the shows that the hormones may make your milk taste differently which can ultimately effect whether or not your baby wants to continue nursing.
tourrette’s syndrome, medication, and breastfeeding?
ok, huge shot in the dark here that anybody’s experienced my current situation, but I thought I might as well ask.
I have moderate Tourrette’s syndrome but I had been able to be off my medication for the last two years, apparently the hormonal changes during pregnancy have made it come back with a vengeance. Some of my tics are quite painful (popping my shoulders, grinding the tendons in my hands) and others (eye and facial tics) make it difficult to carry out normal tasks like driving. But I can still function.
Anyway, I’m breastfeeding and I am unable to find any medications that are compatible with breastfeeding. My doctor basically tells me to either tough it out or switch to formula (which is not an option).
Anyone have any experience with this or has had luck in treating tourrette’s syndrome with safe medications or alternative therapies?
I would be forever grateful for some advice.
Almost ALL medications are safe while breastfeeding.
You can search out meds on this site:

And here is a quote on Dr. Hale’s site that I found in regards to medications for Tourette’s.
“Gilles de la Tourette” syndrom, we have a pregant under tiapride 200 mg/day and bromazépam 6mg/day : she has a breastfeeding project; what do you know about those medications and breastfeeding ?

Dr. deshayes:
We do not have breastfeeding data on either of these medications. That said, tiapride is an antidopamine agent that also has antipsychotic effects. I imagine it will probably increase this mothers prolactin levels significantly and may increase her milk supply. This could be beneficial (if her supply is poor) or a problem, if she becomes engorged. Many of the antipsychotics (both typical and atypical) have been studied and do not appear to produce side effects in breastfed infants. Tiapride is not too likely to harm the infant…but no one knows for sure.
Bromazepam is just another benzodiazepine drug. This one however has a pKa of only 3.2 and a half life of 8 or more hours. It is very unlikely to enter the milk compartment due to this low pKa. I doubt it will sedate a breastfeeding infant…but again, we have absolutely no data on this drug either.
I’d suggest you observe the infant closely for sedation and poor feeding, although I think these side effects are quite unlikely.
