Has anyone found a solution to colic or did you have to wait for you baby to outgrow it?
I found my daughters reason for Colic that my Dr insisted was something she just had to outgrow – it turned out to be dairy in my diet (breastfeeding) and in formula. How about you? (it was all day colic for 6 weeks until I found out what was wrong – not the couple of hours of screaming 3 times a week)
the first 9 weeks of my babies life all she did was SCREAM constantly when she was awake and she hardly slept – it was so hard going…the doctors tried many different things – reflux meds, changing formula to a diff brand, then reflux one, gas drops etc etc etc

My daughter is 13 weeks old and I tried pumping milk out and having my husband feed her but she got real gassy and had a hard time going back to the breast when I got home.
This was 6 weeks ago and I am afraid of trying again because it took two days to get her used to me again.
But it would be nice if I could take my son out alone he is 7 and wants to go to a baseball game and I dont really want to take my daughter.

My daughter was in the NICU when she was born, she got formula because she was drinking more than I could pump. When she was 6 weeks old, I had to have surgery (emergency), so she got formula for 3 days. She hated it, mostly because she was not used to the bottle. After I went back to work, she took 2-3 bottles of milk every day at day care. I was pumping but taking the milk to day care (not home), one day I worked late so my husband gave her formula (probably around 5 months) she was not happy with him, and crazy to see me when I finally came home from work. Now our plan is to give her formula if there’s no milk. We don’t give it to her regularly, only if we have to.

I would not go on a fast or near-fast while breastfeeding if that’s what you mean by going on a cleansing diet. I really don’t believe in short-term cleansing. I believe in long-term behavior modification– eating healthy, nutritious food, and staying away from the processed junk. But especially when breastfeeding, you want to keep producing milk and providing all the nutrition your little one needs. Vegetarian diets are great. I never, ever have experienced the ‘the lbs just fall off’ thing during breastfeeding. I always lose that initial 17-20 lbs from baby and then just stop there. I have to work at it to get the weight off…and while bf-ing, you are only supposed to lose about 1 lb a week, so it’s definitely slow, that’s for sure.

I'm on a diet without milk during lactation of my month-old girl in February. I tried soy milk and had problems with that too, so I spent with rice milk, which seems to be very well. I wonder if it is necessary to add more to my diet to compensate for the loss of nutrients does not drink cow's milk (no cheese, etc)? Or is breastfeeding will give all the necessary nutrients?

Honestly, the dietary needs for lactating women vary greatly. My sister is breastfeeding now and she eats about 3000 calories per day and isn’t gaining any weight..in fact, she’s losing weight!
Your body will make breast milk the same way no matter what you eat. Just be sure you’re not eating foods with harsh chemical additives, which can be transmitted to your baby via breast milk. But as far as specific foods you eat, it won’t matter. Your genes know how to make milk, and they’ll use your fat reserves to make it. It’s so cool how our bodies can make food like that, isn’t it ?!

hi i had a lil boy nearly 4 month ago and currently exclusivley breastfeeding, my weight has dropped down to 8.5 stone 119lbs.my pre pregnancy weight was 9.4stone. im 5 foot 8 quite tall really. Im underweight according to the bmi calculators. now my hair is falling out. Try eating higher protein foods like fish, chicken, eggs, nuts. Also things that have a high carbohydrate content will help, Pastas, breads,etc. You can still eat healthy but just eat more and make sure you up your calories. As far as your hair goes it is very common for women to lose a great deal of hair after giving birth this is because of the change in your hormone level. remember when your hair got thicker when you where pregnant. So I tried for 6 years this baby. But in the last 6 years, I had much time to work on my body. But then, with more than 7 months, I won + 35 pounds of fat and I was born in places I've never been fat before! I was in great shape before, do you believe to be easy to lose weight then? I plan on breastfeeding and I know it helps. But I'd like to hear your baby after history of weight loss.
Do not worry, the highlight! He won 35 or so with my son. He is now 4 months and I have a few books left to go. I am breastfeeding exclusively through 2 hours long walks with the stroller per day, and treat to make healthy food choices. When breastfeeding is not diet, but you can choose foods that make you feel full so you do not overeat, such as eggs, milk, fish, lean meat, etc. Also I have one of these machines and try to use foil for 30-40 minutes several times a week, while my husband plays with the baby. On arrival, you may have lost only 15 or so, but do not despair. I never thought that I have my body, but occurs at a slow and steady rate. Just a heads up for new breastfeeding – is very, very bad at first, but it only gets better. Get a lactation and hang up. There is nothing more than best for your baby, but I think it was key to help me return to my old clothes. Good luck!

How soon can I begin a diet and exercise after I have my baby, since I plan to breastfeed for 6 months?
I would like to begin dieting (safely) as soon as possible after my daughter is born.
I am wondering if my diet and exercise will have a negative effect on me or my newborn, since I have been told that I should be consuming more calories while breastfeeding than if I wasn’t.
I was told to wait about 2 months until I started dieting to assure that you build an adequate milk supply that wont be affected once you lower your calorie intake. As long as you are eating a nutritious foods you will be fine. I think you burn about 500 calories a day breastfeeding so that will make up for the extra calories you have to consume to breastfeed. You need to make sure that you eat around 1800 calories a day or more while breastfeeding. Most moms can safely lose up to 1.5 pounds per week or 6 pounds per month after the second month and not affect milk supply or baby’s well being. Also when you start to diet decrease your calorie intake slowly. Don’t just make a sudden drop since this can affect your milk supply. For me I feel like breastfeeding actually helped tone the muscles in my abs.
