Breastfeeding Reduces Breast Cancer

breastfeeding reduces breast cancer
If only I use a breast pump when I have my son "I can get the following benefits from it?

● nursing mothers return your pre-pregnancy weight fast ● helps the uterus to regain its original size more quickly and reducing bleeding you have after giving birth ● reduce the chance of getting ovarian cancer and breast cancer before menopause

For the most part, yes, mothers who breastfeed their return to weight during previous pregnancy more quickly – is essential as putting in calories than breast milk rather be used by you or converted into fat, helps the uterus return to its original size more quickly and you can reduce bleeding after delivery – the baby's sucking chest to do to release a hormone called oxytocin, which causes the uterus to contract, but the pump is not as good as the baby in the cause of this. Response, reduces the possibility of pre-menopausal breast cancer and ovary – they really do not know why breastfeeding offers this benefit, but will probably be pumping well

Breast Soreness Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding for almost three months and very painful lump in left armpit?

Good morning. I been pumping for almost three months. I had problems from the start of foreclosure. My left breast has always been much easier than my right. My left has always felt less pain when two sips, still produces more, 5 days ago, etc. However, I have constant pain and pain in my left arm between the armpit and left breast. The skin also very red. I am a big painful lump. I felt parts before, but they disappear quickly in a session or two bombs. I've been good pumping about 7 times a day my normal diet, so I do not understand why / how I developed this. What will not disappear. Yes, I will go to the doctor, but meanwhile I would like to hear their views and experiences. I guess I am worried because my maternal grandmother died of breast cancer. Thank you all.

You probably have mastitis. Keep pumping, but not give your baby breast milk or side. You probably also need antibiotics if I go to the doctors. I doubt that breast cancer, but You can tell the doctor. I think the bottle if you encounter problems both personally. Your baby has received a lot of good things that you can give them breast feeding is likely to cope well with the formula, as it takes milk from a bottle anyway if they are pumping. You have done your best … sometimes it is better to give with grace and be much more relaxed and happy with the baby in place constantly sore and cranky. Mastitis can be very harmful, do not visit their doctors for a long time.

Formula Versus Breastfeeding

Why do YOU use formula? (versus breastfeed)?

It seems like a lot of people are using formula versus breastfeeding, I’m just curious why. I totally understand if a woman doesnt produce enough milk, but thats not so common.

Whats your personal reason?

Because i can and it’s my right.

I don’t think people need to justify why they do either. It’s their personal choice.

Breastfed and formula fed my first. Hoping to exclusively breastfeed my next.

And using formula does NOT make you a bad mother. Abusing, neglecting and starving your child does.

4 Months Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding – I can go for a few days to 4 months?

I'm having a baby in March, and have a provisional planned trip in July – 5 days. However, I am planning on breastfeeding. The baby will stay with my Montherlant. My question is: Will I have enough milk stored from it by the duration of the trip? Please do not be rude and call me selfish go or something, that is precisely why I am asking the question.

You can pump after of food to store milk for when you leave, but if you want to continue breastfeeding when I return, will have to pump 8 times in 24 hours, to monitor their production milk. Pumping is not as effective as nursing care to keep your diet so you must be diligent to continue. OB / GYN RN

She had a C-Section, I could only imagine the pain, because all of mine were born naturally!

Breastfeeding Islam

breastfeeding islam
A question to women?

Women of the Bible breastfed their kids. It is written in there about Solomon’s mother fed him for 2yrs.
The Quran speaks of breastfeeding for 2yrs.
So if the Islam and Christian books speak of this, then why are there not more women who breastfed their children instead of bottle feeding.
There are many great benefits to breastfeeding verses bottle
thanks
Men this question was not asked for vile reasons, but I should have known with me being a man it would be taken wrong
I support my wife in her decision to breastfeed, but women have pulled away from it and I wanted to know why

I’m not sure why – but in the non-western world breastfeeding is much more common. this may be due to the fact that it’s free, but also because the west objectifies women so much and breasts are defined mostly as ‘sexy’ rather than functional. unfortunately many women (and men) think page 3 is okay but breastfeeding is disgusting or at least distasteful. I did breastfeed my 3 for at least 2 years each and it can be hard. it can be tiring especially for the first few months. you need a lot of support and encouragement and help with the housework as I remember being glued to the sofa for the first 6 weeks because the baby just wanted to feed 24/7.

Breastfeeding tips

Ten Breastfeeding Tips

The following are the top ten tips that will ensure your breastfeeding experience is trouble-free and you and your baby remain healthy.

1. Eat a healthy, balanced diet while breastfeeding to ensure you get plenty of iron, protein and calcium.
2. Try to feed frequently, as this will help you to maintain your milk supply.
3. At each feed, offer both breasts, but wait until your baby seems finished with one before changing over.
4. If your breasts start to feel uncomfortably full, try to encourage your baby to feed with gentle techniques like unwrapping them and placing them on your bare chest where they will smell your milk.
5. You can keep expressed milk in a sealed container in the back of the fridge (not the door) for three to five days.
6. If your breasts are leaking, try using breast pads to absorb leaking milk.
7. If your nipples are sore, dry and/or cracked, the positioning and latch of the baby may need correcting.
8. Find a comfortable position to feed in whilst lying down, as this will give you a chance to have a break.
9. As for your partner’s support, ask for them to bring you some water and a snack whenever you are feeding.
10. Get a good chair or breastfeeding pillow and create a feeding area with some magazines or books so you can relax while you feed.

Does anyone have the Mirena IUD? Are you happy with it? What are some of the side effects you have had?

I am almost 24 years old and married and we have a baby girl who turns a year old next month. I have an appointment for tomorrow to get the Mirena IUD. I am scared and nervous of getting it, but I know I always forget to take birth control pills and I do not want to get the Depo Shot. I am still breastfeeding my daughter. Does anyone have any advice to give me about getting the Mirena? Have you had any problems with it? Are you happy with it? PLEASE HELP!!!!

I’ve had my Mirena for about 10 months now, and so far haven’t had any problems. I got it when my son was a month and a half old, and so far I haven’t even had any periods, since I was nursing when it was put it and they hadn’t started back yet.

I do have occasional sharp cramps, but I can’t for sure attribute that to the Mirena, as that’s something that happened to me every month before and during my period. So that could just be maybe ovulation, or something like that.

As for advice, I would get it. It’s the most hassle-free method. It lasts for five years or until you take it out, and when it’s removed, your fertility will come back within one cycle.

It’s also the most effective method, being like 99.9% effective. I got pregnant on the pill, my sister-in-law got pregnant when the Nuva Ring slipped out of place, and I don’t wanna get the shot either. Also, I don’t think I’d trust the patch or just condoms.

Just make sure that someone goes with you when you have it inserted, as the insertion can cause cramps or make you very dizzy and thus unable to drive yourself home safely. I didn’t have either of those problems, though, but my doctor told me they’re fairly common.

And make sure that they cut the strings short enough. When mine was inserted, they left them too long and they had to cut more off a week later at the appointment to check it’s position.

Good luck!

Breastfeeding Tricks

breastfeeding tricks
I need some Breastfeeding tricks or tips please!?

So My daughter is 7 months and breastfed and now has 2 bottom teeth, before when she would bite on accident, i would just pull her off and put her down. when she would bite me i knew it was a sign that she was done eating and just playing, but NOW i think she is teething again and she is connstantly biting me, and when i pull her off she cry and crys until i put her back on and then she goes back to nursing. I have tried several things but nothing seems to help. Can anyone give me some advice? Im used to it now but it still HURTS! Thanks!

There’s nothing wrong with pulling her off when she bites, telling her that it hurts you when she bites, and then re-latching her. You’re not depriving her of her snuggles or her feedings, but you are doing something about her biting you. After a few feeds (maybe a few days) as long as you are consistent, she should start to realize that biting you makes you take her off of the breast. She gets latched back on again and such, but it still interrupts her nursing. It’s a natural and logical reaction for you to stop feeding for a second if you are bitten, and she’ll start to understand that.

Have one of her favorite teethers handy and offer it a bit before her feedings and after. You’ll get through it, I promise.

Breastfeeding Only At Night

breastfeeding only at night
Is it safe to breastfeed during pregnancy?

I just found out IM infants and pregnant women im one month to 14 years. Someone has tips on how to stop breastfeeding? It feeds only at night or even daily. Thanks!

Yes, many breastfeeding for pregnancy. I nursed my daughter until my milk dried up. She was 21 and we went to a cup charged with ease. I just got my husband to take care of routine bedtime. It created a new one for him and her, in a few weeks, it was very beautiful. She never cried and cried and activity. She just wanted more pampering during the day and see that he was so sick with the new baby we did. We embrace on the couch for months .. LOL .. My friend nursed her until her second third were born, your milk, without drying for several months. When he entered the final weeks of pregnancy of her son would not do it .. him after weaning. Personally, I give my daughter a pacifier weaned but when she gave me a teddy bear and a new .. it was very special. For about 3 weeks .. then, wildly exaggerated. LOL Try not to worry too much. It will be fine. You will work together to resolve any problem that you need. =)

Innovative programs to promote safe childbirth practices

A report by UNICEF India in January 2009 found that about a million neonatal deaths occur in the country each year. Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) has the largest population of any state in India and continuing problems with neonatal mortality. In an effort to tackle this problem PATH India with funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has initiated Sure Start, a five year project that works with a population of roughly 25  million in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.

A major contributor to these death rates is the lack of literacy and awareness that exists in the rural areas of the country. For example, the benefits of immediate and exclusive breastfeeding are not well understood. For this purpose Sure Start in U.P. works with  community health workers and facilitates the functioning of village health and sanitation committees. Emphasis is laid on educating families especially pregnant women and their mothers’ in laws through home visits by village appointed health workers and the organising of mother group meetings for behaviour change. The latter is a particularly interesting endeavour where expectant mothers are given essential knowledge through interactive games and music to ensure a safe delivery and a healthy child. – is really interesting to see this remarkable mobilisation of communities around issues of maternal and neonatal health (MNH).

Has this made a difference? Ramvati in sabji village district of Raebarelli in UP has said that the regular visits of the village health workers to her house have made her aware of the ills of un- safe birth practices. This time around she will be more careful and will deliver in a clean safe environment.

While one part of this expansive project focuses on engaging with rural communities another works with urban populations in Maharashtra. Here, Sure Start is working to improve MNH by harnessing the value of innovative health financing models, quality of care, volunteerism, convergence, and public private partnerships.

About the Author

Sure Start, a five-year initiative based at PATH and supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is working to reduce maternal and newborn deaths during and after child birth in India.Sure Start uses mass media, interpersonal communication tools and community-level initiatives to educate people about safe child birth practices in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Breastfeeding Rights in the United States (Reproductive Rights and Policy)

Breastfeeding Rights in the United States shows that the right to breastfeed in this country exists only in a negative sense: you can do it unless someone takes you to court. Kedrowski and Lipscomb catalog and analyze all the laws, policies, judicial opinions, cultural mores, and public attitudes that bear on breastfeeding in America. They then explore the classic double bind: social norms promulg…

Breast Engorgement Breastfeeding

Then stop breastfeeding because axillary lymph nodes are swollen?

I stopped breastfeeding my daughter 20 weeks months and a half. My breasts are finally starting to come out of congestion. My right breast has fallen faster than my left. Now my left is still a little more bigger than my right, barely noticeable and I have a swollen lymph node. It's kind of small, but I can feel it. I go to the doctor on Thursday. I asked only for stop breastfeeding when this will happen or do not relate at all? It is mobile, but the node itself is not bad, but close to the armpit is very, very bad. Thanks for any help!

Probably not related to breastfeeding your stop is just that you are more aware of your breasts at this time. There can be an infection if the armpit is painful. I hope now you see your doctor and everything is solved.
