is it ok to stop breasfeeding at 3 months because i am not exclusive breasfeeding mom due to small production?
i am not an exclusive breastfeeding mom because i did not produce much milk at 1st 4-6 week of my baby i had produce milk for about 4 oz twice a day as express with additional help of formula milk but after my menstruation started my milk production becomes less. maybe because my baby is already 4-month-old. is it enough to stop breastfeeding or should i stop it because he doesn’t want to feed directly to my nipple instead he likes formula milk. i would like to continue him breastfeeding thru pump. should my milk production increased using pump technique? if ever my breastfeeding stops my baby could be healthy and has strong immune system eventhough he switch to formula milk.
that’s entirely up to you. my advice would be if there is any way, any way at all to continue to give your baby breast milk then that would be fantastic, and very beneficial to your baby. and before you decide to wean, make sure you see a lactation consultant just to see if there is anything you can do to get back on track with breastfeeding. good luck. x
