Is it better to put my 3 month old on a feeding schedule?
My 3 month old is exclusively breastfed. Since Im a sahm, he basically eats whenever he wants. He likes to graze, and I have overactive letdown so we have been using the side lying position, (less choking and gas for OALD) which means Im in bed feeding him most of the time.
I wouldnt want to put him on a schedule except for the fact that when we go out, he has a hard time eating while I am sitting up with him (OALD). He also has to wait a few minutes for me to get to a place where I can feed him. Then he thinks he can graze and be hungry again 15 minutes later.
If I was comfortable breastfeeding in public in ALL the places I go, this wouldnt be a problem. But there are some places where I am not comfortable with it.
Is now the time to put my little guy on some sort of feeding schedule? I would hate to do it, but I think it would help us have better breastfeeding experiences when we go out.
OR should I just start giving him a bottle whenever we go out (pumped breastmilk)?
No bottles.
Get comfortable with breastfeeding for the sake of your child.
