breastfeeding exclusively and period returned early?
I have been exclusively breastfeeding my 2 1/2 month old daughter. She refuses bottles and pacifiers. My OB/GYN said that in most exclusively breastfeeding women, their menstrual periods typically do not return until the baby starts on solids and that some women do not get their periods back until the baby is weaned from breastfeeding. My daughter breastfeeds every 2 hours yet it appears that my period has started. It’s weird though because before pregnancy I had very terribly painful and heavy periods and now it’s very light with no cramps. One of my friends breastfed exclusively and did not get her periods back for 2 years and another friend didn’t get hers back for 9 months. Is my period lighter and less painful now because I’m breastfeeding? Has anyone else had their period return this early while exclusively breastfeeding?
if your periods cont to be less painfull and lighter its becuse you had a baby not the BFing..
our bodys change a whole lot after PG and birthing…
BFing dosnt always supress ovulation/menstraion. and shouldnt be used as a form of BC, however many women still have repressed menstraion during the BFing time, while other have bodys ready to get back to work after a 10mth PG break.
my periods changed and came back around the time my son was almost 3mthd old, not only did i exclusivly BF, i was also pumming when he wasnt on the breast, so i could start a store of EBM, and so while my body had tp think i was feeding twin/triplets by the amount of milk i made i STILL got my period back
