I delivered my second child almost a week ago, and for the past three days I am having bad headaches…?

…what can be the cause of this. They are not the kind of headaches that you cant focus on anything but they are there, and Ibuprofen does not help them. They are there day and night, I am not breastfeeding, I am pumping, and I had a normal vaginal delivery. What can this be from?

I too had really bad headaches starting about a week after delivery. It can be a number of things. Even when you are pumping, your body is using extra liquids to produce your milk, what helped me was before I fed the baby, I drank 2 big glasses of water and drank another while I was nursing. The other thing I found that helped was to eat a little bit of extra iron. From the delivery, your body loses alot of blood, so extra iron helps. Perhaps try liquid chlorophyll, it helps to renew your iron and oxygen levels. Also, headaches can be caused by hormone changes. You’re body goes through so many changes post-partum that its hard to pinpoint what your headaches are caused by. I’d try more hydration and more iron before you get too incredibly concerned.
