How to feed baby with sore and cracked nipples?
My nipples are very raw and it looks like little sores on the ducts. I am using hydrogel pads to promote healing. I am not sure whether to solely express during the healing process? Both breastfeeding and expressing hurt but I would think its more safer to express so I can see whether I draw any blood?
I have 3 daughters and breast feed them all! Its no easy task at first because of the EXCRUCIATING PAIN that. Your nipples are going through! My doctor gave me some cooling gel pads called soothies and some lanolin oil which helped when the baby wasn’t feeding. As far as when they are lached on the only thing you really can do is make sure they have a proper lach from the begining it makes it less painful! After a few weeks you nipples will toughen up and they shouldn’t have any pain at all! Hope this helps… Hang in there and DON’T give up it gets loads easier I promise… Enjoy your precious bundle!
