How long should it take for my period to come back while breastfeeding my son?
My son is going to be 9 months old on Jan. 1. I currently only breastfeed him maybe 2 times a day now. My supply hasn’t been great since coming back to work when he was 7 weeks old. My fiance and myself are ready for another baby. He is 32 and not getting any younger and we want them fairly close in age. I still haven’t gotten my period back. We have taken a few pregnancy tests and all the bloodwork came back normal with no pregnancy. The last test I took was this morning with a negative result. We are having unprotected sex quite often as we WANT another child. Any advice? How long should I let this go on until I contact the doctor? Thanks in advance.
Every woman is different, it is impossible to know how your body will react.
Breastfeeding typically will stop your periods, but is not necessarily the reason you are not conceiving.
You might consider charting your basal body temp to determine when you are ovulating – you are only able to conceive 24-48 hours of each month.
