Breastfeeding and burning sensation?
My daughter is 17 days old. Ive been breastfeeding only. I had engorgement for a few days the first week. Then everything seemed fine after that went away. Now a few days back, whenever I am nursing and every once in a while when I’m not, I get almost like a burning sensation in the top part of my breasts. Its not around the nipple or anything just the upper part of my breast. It doesnt last long, but it can really be very uncomfortable and painful. Has anyone else had this? Is this normal? What is it? Thanks for your advice.
congratulations on the birth of your daughter – considering it’s natural, breastfeeding has a lot of things to learn about, huh?!
Sounds like let-down to me too, although I feel it as pins and needles.
I’ve now been BFing my second daughter for 4 months and it all really settles down after 6 weeks, and even more so after another 6.
keep with it, it’ll all sort itself out and you’ll know what you’re doing and what’s happening.
Visit kellymom.com for some GREAT info on BFing.
