Are there any states with laws against breastfeeding children past a cirtain age?
I saw this video of this woman who was still breastfeeding her 8 year old daughter whenever the daughter felt like getting up under her shirt and feeding, I was curious about whether or not this was legally frowned upon, in any state. Anybody know the answer to that?
My feeling is that once a child can start to tell the difference between boys and girls and what sexuality is that the child should begin weaning off breastmilk. A breast is still a breast.
I understand why a lot of people would be weirded out by this, but please show me some research on your statement about how children should no longer be breastfed when they can tell the difference between boys and girls and what sexuality is…or anything even remotely similar.
I can assure you, as long as the child is voluntarily nursing, this is not a sexual thing and should not be illegal (People aren’t arrested because their kids are on bottles or pacifiers way too long). If the child has been breastfed her entire life, she isn’t going to reach a magic age where begins to think of her mom’s boobs as sexual objects to suck on.
Most kids who are allowed to self-wean usually are weaned by 3-4 years of age. This child may be a little behind mentally. I would think the child may need an evaluation to have her development assessed.
