Physicians Office said stop for breastfeeding .??!!( bcuz I'm sick)?
My son was recently released from the Hosptial, (The Saturday night), had his shots two months and has pertussis (DTaP), and now on Monday (about 2:00 a.m.) started badly the throat, later that day was worst was when I called my doctor and asked what I could take, they told my Robitussin DM, but now my throat is getting worse and runny nose and sneezing like crazy, I am a nursing mother full time, the doctor's office said that if I'm gettin worse .. stop BF and take other med .. is this rite? Or am I able to taking other medications that are safe for my baby. ? Need help so any information would be helpful, thanks (also had a temperature of 100.0 yesterday, but after taking Motrin DWN / The result of a very bad headache on my left hand only) What about me?
It seems unless your doctor does not know much about breastfeeding. There are a lot of drugs that are safe to use and does not harm your baby. Here is a good source for more information:
