How common are hemorrhoids after pregnancy and what can i do to make them go away?
I had my first child back in august, and about 3 weeks after it started to really hurt when i poop, and sometimes there woudl be a little blood too. I asked my doctor at the 6 week check up (at that point it had been going on for 3 weeks) she said she didnt see anything like a fissure or hemorrhoids, but gave a few suggestions, including eating more fiber. so i increased my fiber intake, and it doesnt hurt as much, but it still hurts, felt like needles before eating more fiber, now just burns. i tried the cream and teh sitz bath, and they help, but what can i do to get rid of them? i read a bit about them from http://www.healthscout.com/ency/68/168/main.html and it says they can keep comming back?
how do i get rid of them, perminately? is surgery the only way? (keep in mind im still breastfeeding)
Hemorrhoids are varicose veins in the rectum. Once you have them. You have them forever. The only way to get rid of them permanently is by surgery. And most surgeons won’t remove them until they become problematic.
Keep your fiber intake up. Hold off on raw fiber as that can make it worse. Use Benefiber if you have too. Sitz Baths are good. As are the creams. It may take time for all the inflammation to go down. Especially if she didn’t give you a prescription medication to apply to them.
