Breastfeeding Moms????
I have been thinking….
My baby is 4 weeks old and we have been at home this whole time and we are getting used to each other and breastfeeding is going really well. I am not ready to go out in public yet though. (that will take a while) I know I can slip off into a dressing room or out to the car if he needs to eat. If we ever went anywhere before I would give him breastmilk in a bottle.
I will get to the question! What kinds of shirts make it easier to feed on the go? I was thinking about getting some of the nursing tanks. I have some nursing bras, but I have to pull my t-shirt up and un-snap the bra and tuck it in and tuck my shirt up. It is too much to do. I want to be discreet about this and that is me fumbling and looking dumb! I don’t want to spend alot of money experimenting! I usually wear tanks and spaghetti staps in the summer.
How do you do it? What kinds of shirts do you wear? Where do you get them? And what is most comfortable for you?
Well definately a tee that you can pull up is more discreet than a button up the front sort of shirt….i would say just practice with tees right now….4 weeks is pretty early to get the hang …in another months time, baby will be bigger and the whole thing will go much faster! I used to face the wall when latching on….then i could fix my shirt …and get settled…and face the public! those nusring tanks look nice, i think they work like a nursing bra does…they unhook from the top …you dont need a nursing bra underneath….you can also bring a light recieving blanket to cover your shoulder and breast if that leaves you feeling too exposed…but over all please remember that you have a legal right to nurse your baby…and a moral imperative to feed your baby! if someone sneers at you….ask them if they would prefer to hear you child cry loudly instead? good luck!
