Some support please breastfeeding momma how can’t anymore?
My 3 month old baby has been breastfed from day one. About 2 and 1/2 weeks ago she started sleeping through the night. Well I was talking to a La Le Che consultant yesterday and she told me that the reason my baby is so fussy all the time lately maybe that my breasts are drying up. At first I disagreed with her but then I tried to pump some milk and I was only getting a trickle from my right breast and about 1/2 once from the left. I was so upset that I waited a few hours and tried again with the same results. At this point I am completely devastated. I really wanted to breast feed for the first year but I feel like my body is letting me down. This is my last child the doctors told me I can’t have anymore.( long story).
Is anyone out there understand or go through the same thing?
Please help I am so upset.
Pumping is not a good way to tell your supply. The baby has better suction than a pump. Around this age, they go through a growth spurt, which means you will have to nurse a LOT more. At three months for me, it was a few days of constant nursing. If your baby is gaining weight AND sleeping through the night, you are making enough milk. Just don’t supplement! If you want to keep nursing don’t supplement, it’s very rare that you would just stop making milk.
