What all should I pack in my diaper bag & my ‘hospital’ bag?

I’m almost 36 weeks, and I’m still at a loss for what all I should pack to take to the hospital! I’ve read a million lists, but it always seems to be a hundred things that never really seem to apply to me? Like clothes for my husband and towels? — My hubby will go home and shower and come back while my mom and dad stay with me and I know our hospital will supply towels and such for me when I feel like showering. Everything on these dang lists seem to be the same, so can anyone possibly give me some advice on what to bring for our little girl once she arrives? If I’m planning on breastfeeding is there anything in particular that I should bring or will the hospital pretty much take care of that stuff? Sorry! Hope I don’t sound ignorant, but this is my first baby and the closer I get to my due date the more strung out and absentminded I seem to get! Thanks everyone! God Bless!!

get a comfortable nursing bra or a nursing tank (if you don’t want to spend too much just get one at target or walmart … you don’t really know what size your breasts will be – my breasts barely grew during my pregnancy so with my first i bought a bunch of c-cup nursing bras … big mistake! i was a dd-cup!)

get some nursing pads, too – i used the lansinoh disposable ones with my first so that’s what i bought for this baby, too. i would also get some pure lanolin cream for your nipples in case they get sore … i don’t remember whether or not the hospital gave that to me – but they didn’t give me anything else for nursing.

if you get wipes for baby, make sure you get some without alcohol … the hospital gave me thick paper towel-like sheets and a bottle that i could put warm water in to clean up my son instead of wipes … they provided the diapers.

you should buy and wash a preemie and a newborn outfit for the baby to wear home … something comfortable and easy, there’s plenty of time for “cute outfits” later … just make sure she’s warm and comfortable. (my son wore preemies for a long time before newborn clothes would even fit … every baby is different, though)

i’ve been writing a lot so i can’t think right now *^_^* i will come back if i remember anything else

don’t stress out – it sounds like if you forget anything you will have someone around to get you what you need *^_^*

congratulations! you’re almost there! *^_^*

Who do I donate my breast milk to?
