How often should a 6 week old be eating?
My son is breastfeeding from a bottle. He has started to refuse the breast. I have been feeding him about 5 to 6 oz at a time. He seams like he want to feed every 2 to 2 and a half hours. Is this normal? When he would nurse he would go 3 hours between feedings. He has gained 4lbs so far. (he weighed 7lbs 10 oz at birth) He is also on reflux meds (I brought him to the Dr because of him refusing to nurse and we found out that he had reflux) Has anyone gone thru this and if so what did you do. How long were you able to give your baby only breast milk? If you had to use formula how did you start up with it? Thank you for your answers before hand. Anything will help me out!!
At 6 weeks of age they hit a growth spurt and will want to eat more to try and ‘up their food supply’. Normal!
