I have a newborn with Acid Reflux, any advice?

I have a 4 day old newborn and we saw her pediatrician today and confirmed it was Acid Reflux. I am breastfeeding. Her pediatrician said to go buy a bouncer as it sits them in a perfect position for Acid Reflux any other advice out there?

We got a whole lot in dealing with my refluxy baby.

Since you’re breastfeeding, try cutting down on lactose type foods or take a lactate pill to help break it down more.
Tilt her bed. We did ours to a 10degree angle, using wooden wedges under her crib to lift it. Some people tilt it as much as 30 degrees. We looked at the sleep wedge that Babies R Us sells and decided that it would be easier to do it ourself and no chance of her rolling off the wedge.
My daughter HATED the bouncer so we couldn’t use that. We did use a swing, but it didn’t stretch her out as much as would have been in the bouncer. So watch for swings that let them stretch out a bit more.
Carseats too can scrunch their tummies up and that makes things worse.
The tight swaddle helped put pressure on her tummy and helped her rest.
We also didn’t put her on her belly but put her on her side slightly with a rolled up towel behind her back so that she was at an angle. That way if she spitup she wouldn’t have it go back into her mouth.
Smaller meals and more of them helped a LOT. Rather than shooting for one meal every 3-4 hours, I shot for a meal every 2 hours, even if it was a few ounces.

Add: Just wanted to nod at one of the other posters who suggested nursing. I couldn’t hardly nurse, physical problem, but for the three months I fought to nurse even a little bit, the action of nursing as well as whatever milk she got out (even just a half ounce) helped to settle her stomach. Feeding more often like I suggested might help to do that as well, but breastmilk is a natural antacid according to my books and so it’s definitely something to try.
