Is It WOrth it with so Little?

6 weeks ago I posted a question about my “lazy sucking” baby as they call it, and due to inadequate weight gain I was forced to suppliment. He FINALLY is sucking well at 8 weeks, however, the 8 weeks of poor nursing has caused me to be unable to establish a good milk supply. After a feeding with him nursing well I still have to suppliment with about 3oz of formula. When he doesn’t nurse because I am not there, he will take 4oz…meaning I am 3 oz shy. Is breastfeeding even worth it at this point? Is there anyway to make my milk supply jump that much? I am being treated for postpartum depression so reglan is out of the question. Any answers are appreciated!
I forgot, this is my 4th baby, I breastfeed the other 3 w/o problems. I am also taking fenugreek (3 3times a day) and the sns just angers the baby so he won’t nurse at all regardless of the flow…

I went through something very similar…the BEST thing to do to get your milk supply pletniful is to pump, pump, pump….and it really doesn’t take long at all, your body will realize that more milk is being used more than the normal times per day and it will improvise, your milk production will speed up….so my suggestion is to pump every 2 or 3 hours, until you have NO milk come out –maybe 15 or 20 minutes at a time and it’ll happen..worked great for me!
Good luck!!
