Advice on Traveling with an infant and breastfeeding?
This Christamas, like every christmas my family goes down to my dads parents house in Pittsburgh. It’s about a 300 mile trip (or 5 hours) from our Homes here in Michigan to my Grandparents home in Pittsburgh…It’s been the same trip every single year since my parents got married and adopted me and my brother…
This year however, my husband and I are bringing our first baby with us. At the time of the trip our daughter will be about 7 weeks. I plan on breastfeeding. But I am not sure how it will work for the trip. Any tips or advice? What should I bring on top of the normal things? We will be gone for 3 days.
When my son was 3 weeks old, we drove from Atlanta to Orlando. I was exclusively breastfeeding. I nursed him and put him in his car seat. He slept for 3 hours then we stopped filled up the gas tank, got food, stretched our legs, whatever we needed to do at the time, I nursed him and changed his diaper, then he went back into the seat and right to sleep. You don’t need to bring anything extra when it comes to feeding. You can follow the same routine you use at home.
