My letdown takes forever!!?
So my son is 8 months old and lately my letdown has been taking a good 1-2 minutes and he gets so frustrated because of this. He doesn’t seem like he wants to wean anytime soon, but I don’t want this to give him the idea. Is this a normal part of breastfeeding because I’m pretty sure this didn’t happen with my first child. Is there anything I can do to get it back to normal?
Before my letdown would be like 20 seconds if that
No I got my period when he was 3 months… it has been VERY irregular though and I am due, but this has been going on for like 2 weeks or so
I lost a bit of weight (landing me at pre-pregnancy) and found that my letdown took longer and I didn’t seem to have quite as much. Gaining 2 or 3 lbs helped with the milk supply and letdown… but it still takes longer in the evenings after a full day. I think it gets trickier as Baby gets older and as Mom gets older too… You can always eat oatmeal, drink LOTS or take fenugreek supplements. Those are supposed to help with supply. I would think they might help with letdown too.
