breastfeeding colostrum
has anyone ever started off bottle feeding then changed their mind and started breastfeeding?

my baby was born on wednesday and i have been bottle feeding, but i think i want to breastfeed now, because of the health benefits for me and for her,,, i know my breasts are still producing colostrum and milk because they are engorged, i planned on asking my pediatrician tomorrow but i don’t want him to think im stupid…

Oh honey it’s going to be just fine!! :) Glad you changed your mind, since it is so much better!!
Offer the breast constantly, to get her used to it and stimulate your milk production. Use your finger and thumb to express a few drops onto your nipple, then put her to your breast. Having the milk right there for her to taste helps!!
Do NOT supplement. Her stomach is VERY VERY tiny, and doesn’t need much food yet. The sucking is a reflex! Keep offering the breast and you WILL make enough milk!
Good luck honey. :)
