What kind of formula (Australia) is best for my seven weeks of age?
I nursed my son for the first four weeks. I a blocked milk duct that is really painful when I raised food. Now I can not do anything if I express, and my son has had thrush burning if I think my nipples. I started supplementing formula when he was four weeks to breast pain and breast-feeding my rest now has become something I really hate, it hurts, is frustrated and that both are on the verge of tears. I was giving him more gold S20 but I think it may be doing the constipation. It was poo every day but appears to be stronger than when he was breastfed. My SIL said that I should try soy S20, but does anyone other suggestions? And the reasons why it is better in other brands? Thanks! (Please, no breastfeeding is the best answer.)
My son breastfed and formula-fed because he was born. I'm all my milk at 6 weeks and have tried all the formulas in Sun My son started on S26 Gold, but it was really constipated. Then he went on colic Novalac that was authorized, but it seemed very watery, place a lot. Then I tried in most Karicare Gold. He also became very constipated. It is now in the Nan Gold HA is very happy with it. Still seems to have a little constipation, but they told me to give him a little water every day. In fact, today I saw my naturopath and she said to keep this formula because it has the Omega and the nucleotides that apparently are very beneficial. This is the only formula with all the "good" ingredients such as DHA, bifidus (if the baby stay with regular and softer stools), nucleotides, and so on. She told me to just take the excess water. I am very happy with the Nan Gold HA. It really seems to be gentle on the stomach. My son suffers from very bad wind and even if the formula is not has helped in this sense, is a strong and healthy boy. It's even harder when some babies of his age and that was 3 weeks Premm. Check out some criticism of Nan HA Gold and you'll seem to be all right. Remember to change the formula, do it slowly. A bottle a day for 2 or 3 days of the new formula, then 2 bottles a day for 2 to 3 days and so on. Apparently, they told me it does not hurt your baby if you change from time formulas time if their done slowly and in a magazine that I read actually said that babies could be beneficial because they can learn about the different tastes and get nutrients in different formulas. It is simply a matter of trial and error. It took me about 3 or 4 different ways to find and now I'm sticking to it. Also takes about 2 weeks for the former form out of your system and give it about a month or two to see if your baby loves and does well in a formula. Unless there real unhappy with it after 2 weeks, then I would change. Hope this helps. Good luck and do not feel guilty or anything change because there is no pain after to have been slow.
