How does marijuana affect breast milk?
I only smoke once or twice, but now I have a newborn and it crossed I wonder through my mind. With alcohol, because it is stored in fat cells, pumping and dumping "is useless and must wait at least two hours after a glass of wine before nursing. Out of curiosity, do the same with marijuana or have effect if pump and dump? And if he does not, how long it takes to breastfeed after smoking?
I'd be more concerned about alcohol and lactation. The research actually showed some similarities between the cannabinoids in marijuana and composition breast milk. I know someone who smoked cannabis during pregnancy and lactation. The child is now 3 and is incredibly intelligent. I am not suggesting that people do this, Im just know I have not seen any detrimental effects thereof. I would say that the smoke of herbs every day, but not every day. And cigarettes.
